Goaties

We have goats. I have enjoyed our goats. When we bought our first two goats, we decided to rent a billy and get some babies. There is NOTHING!!!!! cuter than a baby goat. And yes you can rent billy goats. About three weeks after we rented Gimly, that was the billy's name, we bought three more nanny goats at auction. After a couple of days we decided to separate all of the goats as the new ones were underfed and malnourished. We also didn't want them getting pregnant in their weakened conditioned. After a month we gave Gimly back and enjoyed our goats. We figured that the first two nannies we bought were pregnant. We didn't count on a bonus third being pregnant. But after two months we dicided that she was also pregnant, as her milk bag started to grow. We figured that if Gimly got her, she would be due in August. Nope, apparently she was pregnant when we bought her. Monday morning she gave birth to a healthy baby doe. We are so excited, as she is so cute. The horses were even excited. Today my white mare even got babysitting duties. Dont ask me how they figured that one out.

My Life: What a week...and it is only Thursday

My Life: What a week...and it is only Thursday

What a week...and it is only Thursday

Skylar had been complaining that her vision was getting blurry far away, so I called the eye doctor and made her an appointment for Tuesday. While at the appointment we discussed health problems and I jokingly mentioned her breaking her arm two years ago and said that the klutz gene runs strong in our family. I should have kept my mouth shut. The appointment ended and it was determined that Skylar needed glasses because she is near sighted.
I got to work a 12 hour shift on Wednesday. 8am to 8 pm. At 8:26 in the morning I got a call from the school saying that Skylar fell and hurt her arm and that I needed to get her to the doctor. Lucky for me Ben was home because I couldn't leave work. As it turns out some kid was running to catch the ball and ran into Skylar, knocking her down. Skylar told me later that she heard a snap and then it hurt. She fractured her arm right through the growth plate.
So after visiting the orthopedic surgeon, it was determined that Sky didn't need surgery, and is now in a blue cast from her shoulder to her fingers. Oh and her glasses came in today. I hope this week ends soon!

Yes... I do believe in aliens and No... I have not ever been abducted by them

I am about to start working some graveyards so last night I decided to stay up late in preparation for them. So I decided to watch a movie, The Fourth Kind. It is the movie that they claim is based on actual events, and scary as hell. Not the best option to watch before you go to bed. I had mess up dreams all night long, and since Ben was a sweetheart and stayed up with me, he had weird dreams as well.
The movie reminds me of a unexplained sighting I had back in 2002. Me, Ben and the kids were laying on the Trampoline watching the meteor shower when we saw a pure black triangle glide over us. It didn't make a sound, was a perfect triangle shape and was about 10 feet across. It was just above the tree line. It was very strange. So yes, I do believe in aliens, ghosts, and bigfoot. Werewolves and vampires, well I think I would need more proof.

Clear creek

We took the kids to Clear Creek today. For those of you who have no idea where that is, it is a secret location that is totally awesome. Great for fishing, camping, rock hunting and it even has the occasional hiking trail. But I can't tell you where it is at, Ben would be very unhappy with me.

I took loads of pictures, we gathered tons of rocks, and we had a picnic. But I will tell you what, as much as I love my children, they can totally drain the energy out of you.  The little redhead is my niece Aubrey.

On the way home Dani did nothing but whine. Lucky for me, they all decided to nap on the way home.

More art

My latest attempt at art. This was my accidental picture. I loved how it turned out. The focus is completely on the flowers. I am really enjoying this class. Not only am I learning about my camera, but I am also getting the eye for pictures.
Mothers day turned out great except for Brady trying to sick at 4am. but I guess it could be worse. Ben bought me orange muffins ( my most favorite), and then we went to the home depot where he said that he wanted flowers but it was me who insisted on getting them. I found a red lily ( my most favorite flower)!!!

Ben's bundle of Quail

So way back in March, we hatched some chickens. It was a ton of fun and a enjoyable experience. So Ben said to me " let's get some quail eggs. It will be fun." or he said something similar, but in any case, it was not my idea. Let that be known. But who am I to squash a man's dreams. and being the GREAT!!! wife that I am I agreed. So we order the eggs. They were about the size of a nickel. Now Ben decided what eggs we were going to order, as I said, this was his project. Ben decided on button quail because they were going to be so much fun. After we order the eggs, Ben finally decides to do research on the quail. He got the wrong ones. Button quail are for use in outdoor aviaries and can not be let out to be free in the wild. Guess where that leaves me.... Yup, I have a 75 gallon fish tank with a mesh lid full of button quail in my living room. But I have to admit they are awesome.
